The Toyota HiLux TRD has always been described as a pick-up on steroids. It has been specifically designed for tough, unforgiving terrain and more importantly, it was built to last.
It is masterfully crafted and the five bold colors in the palette suit the nature of this truck-like vehicle. The side-steps are standard and required to make a graceful entry or exit. Inside the TRD, premium audio systems and comfortable supportive sports seats assure an enjoyable ride. Other perks on offer are MP3 compatibility, Blue tooth electronics and cup holders everywhere. The HiLux TRD 4000S features gray colored fabric seats while the 4000SL model offers luxury to the max with exquisite black leather seats.
At the heart of the TRD HiLux is a supercharged 4.0 liter V6 engine rated at 225 kW of power at 5,400 rpm. Step on the throttle and you’ll instantaneously feel the quick response and awesome performance. In addition, the 453 Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm kicks in from the spontaneous gush of the Eaton M90 supercharger. Toyota claims that the new TRD generates 25 percent more power as compared to the standard HiLux V6, and a more profound fuel economy of 12.9 liters/100 km.
The Toyota TRD HiLux has a new sporty look, with 17-inch alloy rims wrapped in 265/65 R17 all terrain Bridgestone tires. Off the road, the TRD has all the four-wheel-drive capabilities of the traditional HiLux. The chassis is extremely sturdy, the grip on corners is supple, and the TRD HiLux’s brake package has been refined for maximum stopping power on and off the road.
