In this day and age moving house can be quite stressful event. It’s important to understand the importance of your possessions and the value that they hold to you. The majority of removalists don’t care that much about your house move. So here are some good tips and things to look out for when hiring someone to move your furniture and general house moving tips.

1. Firstly ask someone who has used the same removalists company. Even look up online reviews and see who gets the best rating in your city. Nothing is better than the words from someone who has used that removalists.
2. Find a removalist who will clean up the rubbish that is left behind at your old house. There is nothing worst when you need to move rubbish to your new house.
3. Get an expert to help you move, the cheaper and dodgier the service looks more likely it probably is.
4. get a removalist who packs your house up and bag tags all your boxes so you know exactly what’s in every box and leaves you with a manifesto. This lets you keep all your boxes closed until they are needed and removes the hassle of opening ten boxes to find the kettle. A company I know that does this is your removals.
5. Let the packers supply the boxes. It can be a true pain trying to get good boxes for your house move. This will prevent you looking in smelly cardboard dumpsters.
6. Don’t use garbage bags. They tear and are hopeless
7. If you do decide to pack your house, label absolutely everything. Even if it’s with a pen. It’s better than having 40 unlabeled boxes.
8. Move your fish tank first. Do this so the water can mature / age over the whole weekend at the new house or apartment so when your fish finally get put in there new home, they won’t chose on the chlorine that is in the water.
9. if you own a plasma or lcd tv. Get a plasma box for the house move. These boxes do exist and can save you buying a new tv. Most quality removalists stock these boxes.
10. Clean the house your moving too first. The real estate agent will have cleaned the house first making your own personal clean quick and easy.
