The new Ford Transit is a light-duty, compact van intended to meet the unique needs of small-business owners. It is the ideal fuel efficient substitute to larger commercial vehicles. The new Transit is Ford’s first small commercial van with impressive payload strength, excellent cargo height, six doors, and frisky city-smart handling.

The new Ford Transit comes as a front-wheel drive powered by a 2.0 liter 16-valve I-4 Duratec Engine producing 130 hp and 136 lb.-ft. of torque, attached to a four-speed auto with overdrive. It has a maximum cargo volume of 143.7 and it can handle a payload of up to 1,600 lbs with the second-row seats removed.

The new Ford Transit comes loaded with new functional and design elements. The new headlamps and tail-lamps provide a new look. The interior has been redesigned to integrate a new dashboard and improved seating. Standard features include manual 6-way adjustable cloth driver seat, second-row split-folding/removable seat, second-row dual sliding doors with privacy glass, 15-inch steel wheels with covers, 180-degree Rear Barn-Door Hinges, lock-in-latch shielded door locks, rear lock lamps, front overhead storage shelf, collapsible steering column, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and Polycarbonate headlamps and tail lamps.

The safety features on the new Ford Transit include front airbags and front-seat side airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System and Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
