Do you know what G6 means in the Ford Falcon series? G is a nod to the Ghia badge that has adorned many luxury Ford vehicles, while number 6 symbolizes the vehicle’s six cylinder engine. Similar with the model XT, the G6 is powered by the same 195kW 4.0 Liter six cylinder that what utilized in the base model XT. The price of Ford Falcon G6 starts at $39,990.

Under the Hood

Falcon G6 serves as a stepping stone to Falcon G6E, with the same 4.0 liter six cylinder engine and brand new five-speed automatic transmission similar to Falcon XT while it adopts the luxury Sports suspension settings, sports steering rack and seventeen inch tires.
Powerful yet refined, the Falcon G6 gives drivers confident handling and a compliant ride—a mix that encompasses quiet but strong competence.

Comfort and Practicality

Ford Falcon G6 does not seem to have enough legroom in the rear compared to the other Ford Falcons. Ford claimed to have an increase of 9mm in rear legroom but some disagreed that the adjustment seemed to be smaller—maybe because of the driving position required.
Adjustable pedals may also be added to create better driving position but the electric or manual mix for seat adjustment seems to be a little weird. To sum it up, the G6 has a good driving position even though it is a bit high.

When it comes to the interiors, G6 has a better style and design compared to other models. The trip computer display is limited since it only shows one reading at a time and easy navigation is kind of impossible because menus are located inconveniently on the side of the instrument cluster.

The central screen, even though it is not colored, provides an easy navigation and has all the related stereo and temperature info on the one screen. The CD player is well sized and is capable of accepting more than one CDs. The stereo is also compatible with iPods and other MP3 players.

Safety

Similar to XT, G6 has front and side airbags but missed out on the curtains that was being offered on higher models. If you want to add these curtain, you have the option to buy it for $300. Other safety equipment includes electronic stability control system, anti-lock brakes, brake assist so as to maximize pedal pressure during emergency situation, potentially lessening stopping distances by a few meters.
